Vote by Mail Update

In response to the current Supreme Court decision, please be advised the Union County Clerk will be processing the Vote by Mail ballots as per New Jersey State law.

Ballots are required to be in the mail to voters no later than September 19, 2026.

The State is currently in litigation with the Federal government, and at this time no one knows what the outcome will be.

If you are not comfortable at this time with receiving a Vote by Mail, you may OPT OUT by sending an email:

  • Please e-mail ucvote@ucnj.org and provide your full name, address and date of birth.
  • You will receive confirmation that you will no longer receive a Vote by Mail Ballot and may vote early or at your polling place on November 3, 2026.
  • Please submit your request NO LATER THAN September 15, 2026.
  • You may receive Vote by Mail Ballots in the future by submitting a new application.

If you choose to continue to receive a Vote by Mail Ballot, it is strongly recommended that you place your ballot in the mail a minimum of 7 days prior to November 3rd or place your ballot in a secure Drop Box.

Notice to All Overseas and Military Voters

Pursuant to recent changes in the federal law, a FPCA request will no longer serve as a request for ballots for the next two General Elections, (Section 585 of the Military and Overseas Empowerment Act).
